Tandem raises $3.8M to enable all our favorite apps to act on our behalf

Tandem (HX24), founded by Christophe Barre and Manuel Darcemont, is building in-app AI agents that handle tasks for users. The startup has raised a $3.8 million seed round led by Tribe Capital, with plans to expand to more companies and open a US headquarters in San Francisco. Already integrated into tools like Qonto, Aircall, and Sellsy, Tandem is tackling a fundamental problem: 64% of new users never activate, and companies spend 5-8% of revenue on support.
When AI takes action
Tandem's approach is straightforward: a persistent "Do it with AI" button that lives inside existing products. Behind that button is AI that doesn't just understand what users want. It can complete tasks on their behalf. Need to enable a feature? Configure complex settings? Fill out a technical form? Tandem's AI agents handle it directly.
While most product tools stop at giving instructions, Tandem's agents take action. They navigate interfaces, input data, and complete multi-step processes while users focus on more important work.
The team built Tandem because too many valuable features go unused - users don't need more explanations of how to use them, they need the ability to act. Tandem steps in at moments of friction, helping users move forward by doing the task with or for them.
Proven results with leading companies
At Aircall, Tandem lifted adoption of advanced features by 10-20%. At Qonto, it helped over 100,000 users discover and activate paid features like insurance and card upgrades, turning navigation challenges into one-click experiences.
"Using Tandem feels like infusing a bit of magic into our product. It effectively addresses our navigation challenges, enabling our users to extract more value from Qonto. As a result, we see an increase in activation and a decrease in company-wide support tickets" - Maxime Champoux, Head of Product at Qonto
Companies like Kraken and Sellsy have also integrated Tandem, recognizing that users increasingly expect software to work with them, not against them.
The bigger shift in software expectations
Tandem's seed round, led by Tribe Capital (backers of Kraken, Docker, and Airtable), comes as AI is changing how people expect to interact with software. The old model of tutorials, help docs, and support tickets feels outdated when users can ask ChatGPT to write code or generate presentations.
"AI is resetting how we use software. People are no longer satisfied clicking through menus and tutorials, they expect to get things done. Tandem is a response to that change by adding a layer of execution inside the product, right where users need it" - Florent Quinti, Partner at Hexa
Product complexity has been growing for years as companies add features and capabilities, but user experience has often suffered. Tandem's approach points toward a future where software can be both powerful and intuitive, where complexity exists under the hood while users interact through natural language and delegation.
Building for every app
With fresh funding, Tandem is expanding beyond its existing base to open a US office in San Francisco. The company's vision extends beyond its current integrations - they're building the infrastructure for a world where every app can think and act on behalf of its users.
As AI capabilities advance and user expectations evolve, companies that can bridge the gap between powerful functionality and effortless user experience will have a clear advantage. Tandem is building toward a future where software isn't about better tutorials or cleaner interfaces - it's about AI that can handle the work.
